Compassionate Climate Learning Community, October 2021 - April 2022 (Virtual)
First session on October 20, 2021
This is a six month program. We will meet every 2-3 weeks virtually via Zoom for 12 sessions from October 2021 to April 2022. Sessions will be held on Wednesdays at 9:00 am Eastern Time and last for 90 minutes; the final session will be 120 minutes.
Facilitated by Gustav Böll and Rask Wanscher
Offered by the Center for Systems Awareness
At the Center for Systems Awareness, we believe that in order to affect positive, transformational changes in education, we must start by supporting educators and students to
• develop their personal mastery (awareness, insight, purpose, visioning, contemplative practice),
• engage in reflective conversations, and
• develop their systems thinking and systems sensing capacities.
By developing a “Compassionate Systems” foundation, we believe individuals will be better able to address the complex challenges we collectively face such as the climate crisis. With a compassionate grounding, we hope to build a greater capacity, as actors in the fight against climate change, to maintain our engagement and vision for a better future while also managing our own emotional reactions that often arise when acknowledging the current reality and working to address change.
