Ms. Leah Davis has spent more than 20 years committed to promoting access and equity for each student. Her beliefs are grounded in ensuring that the system meets the needs of all students and that in order to do this we, as educational leaders, must be committed to relationships, innovation, and inspiration.
As the Executive Director for Riverside County Special Education Local Plan Area, Ms. Davis supports 26 local education agencies (LEAs) in Southern California as they strive to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. Ms. Davis also serves as a partner in the SELPA System Improvement Lead Project which provides the opportunity to collaborate state-wide in this improvement work. Ms. Leah Davis’s professional career has centered around students with disabilities as she began her career as a speech and language pathologist, always maintaining a commitment to ensuring each student was assured the ability to communicate. She has also served the students of California in the capacity of Program Specialist, Assistant Director and Director of Special Education.
Leah holds a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from University of Hawaii and a Bachelor of Science in Speech Hearing Sciences from University of Washington. Leah maintains a strong commitment to balance in life and enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
