Director for Learning and Development | Camp De-La-Salle Consultant | Dynamo
Youth Leadership TEAM
Antoine Béland started out as a summer camp counselor as a teenager and discovered his vocation as an educator. He worked in a variety of formal and informal learning contexts with children from different backgrounds and eventually coordinated a large international youth movement as part of the La Salle network.
He currently works as a consultant with the firm Dynamo, an organization based in Montreal, Canada which specializes in cross-sector collaboration and community development. He also holds the responsibilities of Director for Learning and Development at Camp De-La-Salle, his former summer camp and his training ground for trying out all sorts of pedagogical approaches.
Antoine has always been passionate about teaching children and teenagers to understand and care about the world and be better citizens, and the Compassionate Systems Framework is a natural area of interest for him. His first prototypes carried out with children at the summer camp encourage him to bring this approach to more education settings, especially out of the classroom. He is also committed to expand the Compassionate Systems work to groups of Youth Ambassadors, who would mentor and train their peers mainly in school settings.
Antoine feels blessed to be part of this first cohort of Compassionate Systems Master Practitioners and to learn from so many inspiring educators and leaders!
